Parting Words

I’ve been in Florida for two weeks packing up and selling the dream home my mother set up with my father. He passed away in 2003, and she’s been alone every since. But she still loves him a great deal, and all they built together. She sometimes mentions how important the small simple things they did for each other was. Dad bought or wrangled something nice for mom for Valentines Day. She always cooked a special meal for him if they didn’t end up going out to one of their fav restaurants. While my folks’ relationship was not perfect, they did remember to date and make time for each other away from all the other pressures of the world. Just as Thanksgiving can remind us to be thankful for the life we are living and appreciate the good, bad and the ugly, Valentines Day can be a reminder to nurture our intimate relationships and take time to be just with each other. So I wish all of you many great date nights in February, where you remember to say I love you, to pamper one another, and be grateful for the great gift of companionship your love for each other can and will provide every single day.

Holding you in my heart always,

Rev. Crystal
