Examples of Wedding Vows

Contemporary Vows

1. I take you to be my wife/husband. I promise to be faithful to you by my words and through my actions whether we are together or we are apart, in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. I will love and honor you and our relationship through all the days of my life.

2. I take you as my wife/husband, to care for you and trust you, to cherish you and respect you, to forgive you and be forgiven by you. I will love you in good times and in bad, when we are together and when we are apart. I will hold our relationship as sacred for as long as we both shall live.

3. I take you as my wife/husband. I pledge to share my life openly with you, to speak the truth to you in love. I promise to honor and tenderly care for you, to cherish and encourage your own fulfillment as an individual through all the changes of our lives.

4. Thank you Groom/Bride for helping me to fill my world with meaning. Thank you for accepting me as I am. My aim is not to change you but to grow with you as an individual. I pledge before God and this company to be gentle and kind, strong and forgiving, and to love and cherish you forever as my wife and friend. I celebrate and acknowledge the miracle of us.

Traditional Wedding Vows
